Buyers
Whether you're buying your first home or your tenth, it's a big decision. Where do you start? The first step is finding a Realtor you're comfortable with, someone you can talk openly to. Oftentimes, buyers don't even know how to begin the conversation. A truly good Realtor isn't there to sell you something. They're there to counsel and guide you at a pace you're comfortable with.
What should buyers look for when hiring their agent? Most importantly, do they listen? That's the key to making your home-buying experience not only successful, but enjoyable. A good Realtor will ask questions and take the time to understand what's important to you, what you're looking for, and what you're willing to compromise on.
Buying a home is a process, a narrowing-down process. My job is to help you look beyond the obvious, give you my honest opinion, and help you recognize both the possibilities and the potential concerns along the way.
Looking Beyond the House
Finding the right home isn't just about whether you love the kitchen or the floor plan. It's about whether the home actually works for you.
I'll help you look beyond what you see at the showing and consider the things that can have a big impact on your day-to-day life and your future investment.
Things like:
Location: What's around you today, and what's planned for the future?
HOA and other fees: What are you paying for, and what could those costs look like down the road?
Major components: How old are the roof, AC, water heater and other major systems?
Insurance: Are there factors that could affect insurability or cost?
The neighborhood: Does it fit your lifestyle, and how might that affect resale?
The garage: Will your car or cars actually fit? And will you have enough room for everything else you need to store?
Future resale: Even if you're not thinking about selling anytime soon, it's important to consider what could affect the home's value and marketability later.
These are the things that may not be obvious when you're walking through a beautiful home, but they can make a big difference once you live there.
Good decisions come from having good information. I'll give you that information, help you understand your options, and ultimately, help you make the decision that's right for you.
